AIP – Soreq Caves and the Israel Musea

Amazing day!! And…what beautiful weather!   The JNF dedication center was our first stop this morning and  Avinoam Binder who welcomed us to the park.  He explained the park and what JNF does in Israel.  We walked around the site and were most impressed with the Bar Mitzvah Wall.  Then on to Soreq Caves – an unbelievable site located in the American JNF Park.  This is a cave that has stalactites and stalagmites – incredible formations.  Lunch in the lovely German Colony and yes there is more…the Israel Museum.  We had a visit to the 2nd Temple Model, Dead Sea Scrolls and some the Judaica exhibit.  But the highlight was the King Herod Exhibit – this is only going to be open for a few months.  The lines are quite long as it just opened a few weeks ago.  Our Farewell Dinner was held at the Modern Restaurant – great food and lots of fun.  One more day…we can’t believe that!  CAARI is one incredible day after another.

The Canadian American Active Retirees in Israel, CAARI, offers active seniors a unique opportunity to experience Israel. The program is designed to explore the biblical landscapes, follow the footsteps of the early pioneers, and envision the future of our Homeland. The CAARI Program includes community service, toursa speakers forum and the camaraderie of the CAARI Family. The Program is designed for to feel, touch, hear and see Israel from the mountains to the desert, from sea to sea, and from ancient to modern.
