Today is our hiking day and the weather just perfect! We left the hotel, driving north and then east to the Hula Valley. Our destination, the Hula Nature Reserve, a site of world-wide importance for water birds and an important wetllands habitat in the Middle East. The Hula area is a ‘stopping place’ for millions of birds migrating spring and fall. Our tour began with amazing multi media 3 D film describing the history, flora and fauna of the area. With our binoculars and camera, and guide Neil, we walked along the path through the lake to observe the wonders of nature! Not only did we see all kinds of birds, but we saw water buffalo, furry coypu and catfish and carp found in the picturesque marsh setting . We stopped at the bird hides where Neil pointed out several of the bird species – how does he recognize and remember all those names? A wonderful experience of nature! Below are some of the sites we saw.
Our day continues on to Gamla!
