This morning we went to our community service assignments and after lunch, we went to the i24News station in old Jaffa …..and although I had been there last year, I found I learned just a bit more this time……and we topped off our afternoon at the Basma Cafe near the i24 Studio where the charming owner of the

cafe told the history and meaning of the name (smile) and roasted coffee beans, serving Turkish coffee, lattes, and wonderful homemade sweets.  A happy and satisfying day to another fine day in Israel.

So I will finish for today with my thanks to all of you for your notes and encouragement, and hope that you stay warm and cozy and healthy……Weather here has moved into high 60’s with lots of sunshine……so that only adds to my great joy in being here…….and I do not take for granted how fortunate I am to be able to take this trip……as well as the pleasure I get from knowing Ralph would be so happy I was using this El Al perk!!
Much love to all of you
