Shalom,

Had a great weekend – the weather was lovely.   Many of us  walked around the city, visiting  neighborhoods, the ports, museums, attended services, danced on the Tayalet and just enjoyed the view of the sea!  Sunday, we began with day with our community service in the schools and hospital, lunch and on the bus for the ancient port city of Jaffa.  We visited the new museum and the tel for a look back in time.  Of course, there was time for ice cream!  Then off to Le Relais Restaurant for an early dinner before attending the Opera – “The Turn of the Screw” by Benjamin Britton. What a cultural complex in Tel Aviv!
Monday, the day began with the moving visit to Independence Hall.  No matter how many times some of us have been there – you can’t help but be pulled with the emotion of Ben Gurion declaring the State of Israel.  The museum has been renovated and it is amazing what a little paint and light does to the building.  Then off to City Hall to meet Tel Aviv’s deputy mayor, Assaf Zamir who welcomed us to Tel Aviv and thanked us for being here and our service to the community!  What a day!
